Living Room Set – Sarah + Gene

Sarah and I worked together years ago, my (the sister) company designed their wedding flowers and now we were honored with the job of designing furniture for their gorgeous home!

Their 1938 home is absolutely beautiful with a mix of cottage charm, shabby chic goodness and a modern line woven throughout.

They chose a 3 piece custom build after shopping around the major picks (Pottery Barn and co) – a factory cart inspired coffee table and white cottage chic styled X base end tables.

We made the coffee table to their specifications to create the perfect fit for their space, the end tables were also oversized from the common finds in the big box stores to fit perfectly next to their sofa. Factory carts are typically very low, we added a second plank to the sides to create a higher table (and hopefully less knocked over drinks than a lower cart table!). The coffee table factory cart was finished off with a distressed American Walnut finish to compliment the home’s original flooring. The end tables went with a cottage chic two tone finish- white wash on the tops and a distressed white paint on the bottom.

All pieces were made with pure American wood, no particle pieces here! And all three pieces passed our stress test with flying colors! πŸ’ͺ What is our stress test at BBF? Glad you asked, we take a grown ass bearded man and he stands/jumps on all pieces of furniture before we give them the seal of approval. Then we know that they are more than qualified to take on their new place in your home!

Enjoy! Sarah + Gene, thanks again for having us on to work with you! Cannot wait to build more pieces in the future for you two! And, Go team #18! 🏁
